Zack Hill and Colby Long combined for 32 points to lead Lincoln County over visiting Madison Central, 55-51, Friday at LCHS.
Hill and Long shared game-high scoring honors in the win, putting up 16 points each as Lincoln improved to 11-6.
The Patriots had to rely on a 16-10 first-quarter effort to earn the win, with Madison Central challenging the rest of the way.
Madison Central (6-14) matched Lincoln’s scoring over the next two periods, collecting 13 points in the second quarter and 12 in the third for margins of 29-23 at the half and 41-35 going into the fourth quarter.
The Indians finally outpointed the Patriots in the final frame, however, the 16-14 edge would not be enough to erase Lincoln’s early lead.
Madison Central was led in scoring by Dominique Hawkins with 14 points. Brenton Covington followed with 13 points and Nick Ford contributed 12 points.
