Katherine Ball Spoonamore, 80, of Stanford, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Charleston Healthcare in Danville, KY surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Born January 30, 1936, in Stanford, Katherine was a daughter of the late Timothy and Bernice Sprinkles Ball. She was the widow of George O. Spoonamore, III. Katherine worked as a homemaker for most of her life and was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. She was full of passion and love for her husband, her family, and their farming operation.
Survivors include one son, George O. “Sonny” Spoonamore, IV (Donna) of Stanford; two daughters, Susan K. Spoonamore of Frankfort and Georgia Gayle Spoonamore of Brentwood, Tenn.; one brother, Timothy Ball of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Amy Isaacs (Scott), Gary Owens, Jr., George O. “Street” Spoonamore V (Erica), Tinsley McCoy (Casey), and Christopher Carter (Holly); seven great-grandchildren, Gabby, Riley, Luke, Hadley, Hudson and Aikyn, and London Jane; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lydia Blanton, Jean Deatherage, Maye Reed, and Fanlee Reed; and one great-grandchild, Sutton Elizabeth Carter.
Funeral services were Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel in Stanford with Reverend Jeff Bramel officiating. Burial followed in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.
Active pallbearers were Scott Isaacs, Luke Isaacs, Christopher Carter, Gary Owens, Jr., Street Spoonamore, Casey McCoy, David Campbell and Jim P. Spoonamore.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Charleston Health Care Personal Patient Care Fund (C/O- Charleston Health Care Center, 203 Bruce Ct., Danville, KY 40422).
