Sylvia Marie (Zwahlen) Stevens, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Landmark of Lancaster Rehabilitation And Nursing Home.
Born in Waynesburg on December 7, 1920, Marie was a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Schlappi) Zwahlen. She worked as a seamstress at Cowden’s Manufacturing and was a member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church and the widow of Logan Arch Stevens.
Marie is survived by sister-in-law, Edith Zwahlen; three nephews, James Alfred Zwahlen and wife Beverly, Jerry Wayne Zwahlen and wife Susanne and William “Billy Ray” Zwahlen and wife Mary; and special friends and caregivers, Bro. Morris Trayner and his wife Roberta and Lynn Gibson and wife Rhonda.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 14) at McKnight Funeral Home with Bro. Morris Trayner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
