Hebron Lakeside Church recently reached a milestone occasion of fulfilling a debt and will be celebrating with a special service.
The community is invited to join the Hebron Lakeside congregation and other special guests from the past on Sunday, June 10. Morning worship is 10:45 a.m., a covered dish meal at 12:30 p.m., and the celebration program at 1:30 p.m.
The building debt at Hebron Lakeside Church, which is located on Hwy. 150 east near Cedar Creek Lake, was paid in full in February, 2018, leaving the congregation indebted only to God. The retirement of the debt is a testimony to God’s goodness and the faithfulness of the congregation and many volunteers and friends.
It took 14 years to pay the construction costs of moving the building from its original site, renovating the sanctuary, and adding an additional 5,500 square feet to include a vestibule, fellowship hall, Sunday school rooms, restrooms and an apartment. Ground for the new site was broken in the summer of 2002 and the first service was held, December, 2005. During that time the church members met in various locations in Stanford and Crab Orchard, missing only three or four services due to snow.
