STANFORD — Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly Tuesday morning crash on KY Hwy 39 in Lincoln County.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office identified Lawrence Burdette, 50, of Mount Vernon, as the man who died in the single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:14 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputy Michael J. Mullins NRP reported that the preliminary investigation indicates that Burdette was driving south on KY 39 when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over before striking a tree in the driver’s side door area.

The KY 39 roadway was shut down for approximately four hours as a result of the accident.

The Lincoln County Fire Department, Lincoln County EMS and Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum assisted at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by deputies Mullins and Sgt Sim Thacker.
