Edgar Eugene Rogers, 91, of Crab Orchard, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019. He was the husband of Joyce (Smith) Rogers whom he married on December 31, 1950. Born in Crab Orchard on October 8, 1927, Edgar was a son of the late Lewis Graden and Nora Ann (Brown) Rogers. Edgar had worked as a farmer and was retired from Penn Ventilator. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Edgar is survived by his wife, Joyce Rogers; daughter, Vicki Charlene Irvin of Crab Orchard; son, Jeffery Eugene Rogers, of Crab Orchard; grandson, Jason Baker and wife Amy of Crab Orchard; granddaughter, Megan and husband Anthony Noel; grandson, Dale Irvin and wife Jennifer; sister, June and husband Will Myrick of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Kaleigh, Samantha, Logan, Nikki, Tanner, Trinity, Eliana, Emma, Kaden, Ava, Maylon and Maxwell; and great grandchildren, Knoxx and Rhett.
In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Homer, Glenn, Carlos and Joe Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with Bro. Thad Eubank officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of Stanford.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. on Saturday until funeral time at Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Pallbearers are Jason and Maxwell Baker, Dale Irvin, Anthony, Logan and Tanner Noel and Devin Vanover. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Griffin, Wendell Thompson, Jack Walls and Curt and Clay Smith.
