Sunday, Feb. 10 the worship music was absolutely wonderful. “Lord, Reign in Me, The Old Rugged Cross, and Shout to the Lord” were three of the four songs that blessed us. One of my favorite praise songs “Days of Elijah”, was also on the list. The chorus of that song says “Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun”, and ends with “Out of Zion’s Hills (heaven), salvation comes (Jesus). I can almost see Him coming through the clouds to take His children home. Thanks, Joseph and Praise Team.

Bro. Kyle started his message in a different way Sunday. He brought out a lemon and lemon squeezer. He impressed upon us that no juice will be unless you press and squeeze the lemon. Then he posed the question – Do we feel pressed and squeezed by circumstances in our lives? While this is not a comfortable experience, this leakage will be good for us and glorify God.

Paul gave thanks because pressure and squeezing brought out a cleansing and strength the people in 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 were experiencing. Every time we open the Bible, we hear God speaking to us. Through God’s inspired words, (the Bible), we know that Jesus helps us through hard times.

Some people look at the Bible as a rule book of lessons, principles, do’s and don’t’s. The Bible is a book about a relationship with God, God’s love for us, and what God has done for us through Jesus. God will teach us and wants to teach us, but we have to allow it to happen.

Following the morning message, Taylor Warren went forward to tell the church of her trusting Jesus. Welcome!

The church enjoyed a luncheon of spaghetti, salad, bread, and dessert at the shelter. All the donations went toward helping with the money for kids’ camp.

The choir will begin working on the Easter music on Sunday, March 3 at 5 p.m.

Kid’s Camp is July 21-24 for students coming out of the second grade through sixth grade. A $75 deposit/per person is due Feb. 17. See Stacy for more information.

Our church will be going to Perfect North Slopes in Indiana Feb. 23-24. The cost is $60 skiing, $40 tubing, + money for three meals.

Dates to remember: Sunday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.– movie “I Can Only Imagine”

Thought for the week: “Give Satan an inch, and he will be a ruler!”
