Students in Ms. Kristi and Mrs. Mae’s Highland Elementary Preschool classroom recently embarked on an Exercise Study.
In the classroom, the students learned the names of muscles and body parts, the importance of eating healthy foods and cleanliness habits to follow to help us to stay healthy. Students also made heart rate comparisons during different types of physical activities.
Clara Lawson, owner and personal trainer at Atomic Gym, showed the children how to exercise while playing in the snow and winter time. She explained to the children how different movements affected different muscles in their bodies.
Alphanso Miller of the Lincoln County Health Department shared how children can have fun imitating animals while exercising their bodies. He also read a story to them about being a good friend and doing good things for people.
