STANFORD — Downtown Stanford was revved up Saturday afternoon as hundreds of off-roaders from across the county and area rolled out for the annual Christmas in June fundraiser.
Each driver paid $15 to register, riders paid $5 and non-riders just taking in the day’s event paid a $5 fee with all funds going towards making sure children in the area have a Christmas to remember.
All proceeds are presented to the Ft. Logan Fraternal Order of Police for its annual “Shop with a Cop” event, where members of the Stanford Police Department are paired with children to pick out presents.
This year’s ride, which was hosted by George and Priscilla Miller and Marlon Tinsley, raised over $5K for the annual Christmas shopping trip.
“The attendance was down a little this year due to all the rain but we did have an awesome day, bringing in $5,173,” Priscilla Miller said.
The rain and thunderstorms that had rolled through the area prior to the run cleared out before the hundreds of Razors, ATV’s, Jeeps, etc. rolled into downtown Stanford for the official start of the event.
After door prizes were handed out on the steps of the Lincoln County Courthouse, the off-roaders loaded back up and headed to Spoonamore Lane for a meal and some racing and mud pit fun before heading off-road for the day’s ride.
