Pauline (Baker) Hopkins Griggs, 85, of Stanford, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 7, at the Stanford Care for Health & Rehabilitation.

She was born in the Broughtontown community of Lincoln County on March 14, 1934. Pauline was a daughter of the late Oscar and Grace (Harness) Baker. She was the widow of her first husband, Jessie Hopkins, and second husband, Billie Griggs. Pauline had worked for Cowdens Manufacturing and had owned and operated the Hopkins Grocery in Broughtontown. She also worked in Lancaster at the Quick Stop Market for over 15 years and was a member of the Stanford Church of Christ.

Survivors Include her four children, Wilma Faye (David) Lubecki of Lancaster, Jessie David (Tammy) Hopkins of Rockholds, Shelby Roy (Deb) Hopkins of Stanford and Toni Maude Hopkins of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Hopkins, Daniel (Mary) Hopkins, Jessica Sayre and John Walton; and one great-grandson, Will Hopkins.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by an infant daughter; five adult siblings, Viola Dyehouse, Glen, Ray, Bob and Henry Baker; five infant siblings, Estel Murrell, John Edward, Ruby Pearl, Joseph and Victor Paul Baker and a granddaughter, Courtney Walton.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hopkins, Daniel Hopkins, John Walton, Gary Baker, David Lubecki, Will Hopkins and Lester Hopkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Jessica Sayre, Collis Ray, Lonnie Napier, Dick Dewald, Ray Ball, Connie Riney, Jerry and Leon Petrey, David Smith, Connie Denton, Todd Baker, Carol Taylor, Kelly Lamb, Mike and Kenneth Dyehouse and Stanford Church of Christ members.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Baker and Daniel Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in the Hopkins Family Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. on Wednesday at McKnight Funeral Home.
