The Lincoln County Health Department is continuing to administer COVID-19 vaccinations and register individuals for the next phases.

Director Diane Miller said Monday the county is still administering vaccinations to the Phase 1b group, which includes first responders, anyone age 70 or older and school personnel.

“Vaccination clinics are going real well,” she said.

Miller is encouraging the public to remain patient.

“We will get to you,” she said. “I will be receiving 100 vaccines per week for the next couple of weeks and hopefully by the second or third week of March I’ll be able to address the Phase 1c group.”

Phase 1c includes anyone age 60 or older, anyone age 16 or older with CDC highest risk conditions and all essential workers, according to the state website kycovid19.ky.gov.

As of Monday, LCHD reported 161 active cases of the novel coronavirus and 43 contacts to those cases.

“We have six cases at Stanford Long Term Care and Rehab and one staff member that is a positive case as well,” Miller said.

One new death is being sent to the state for review, she said.
There have been a total of 31 COVID-related deaths confirmed in Lincoln County officially, Miller said.

Miller said cases have decreased slightly now, likely because some time has passed since the Christmas holiday, but she is waiting to see what happens to the numbers following the Super Bowl, which was held on Feb. 7.

The LCHD is continuing to register individuals for vaccinations.

“People will be called based upon the date that they registered,” Miller said. “We’re taking them in order as they call.”
