Samuel Glenn Jeffries

1942-2021

Samuel Glenn Jeffries, 78, of Mt. Salem passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Born December 31, 1942, he was the only son of the late Irvin “Red” and Bertie Murphy Jeffries.

Glenn was a retired teacher in Casey County and Lincoln County where he taught Health and PE for 32 years, also coaching basketball and baseball. He loved to fish and watch the Dodgers play ball. He took great pride in his yard work.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Della Lee Jeffries; son, Alan (Tracy) Jeffries of Moreland; daughter, Jennifer Jeffries (Jeffrey Dale Woodrum) of Liberty; stepson, Shannon Cooley of Richmond; and five grandchildren: Jenna Bender, Derek Sallee, Emily Jeffries, Reid Jeffries, and Eli Bender.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm, Wednesday. Private burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery. Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
