Stanford departments report monthly activity

STANFORD – The Stanford Police Department made 40 arrests during the month of September, according to the monthly activity report given to City Council members last week.

SPD wrote a total of 254 citations in Sept. and reported 859 contacts through 911. From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, SPD gave 75 warnings and responded to 16 accidents. The department reported a total of 45 incidents/cases.

SPD officers had a total of 82 hours of training.

The Stanford Fire Department responded to a total of 73 incidents from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, according to the report.

SFD reported the following incidents:

• trash or rubbish fire (contained) – 2

• mobile property (vehicle) fire, other – 1

• passenger vehicle fire – 2

• natural vegetation fire, other – 1

• brush or brush-and-grass mixture fire – 2

• medical assist, assist EMS crew – 12

• emergency medical service, other – 1

• EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 26

• motor vehicle accident with injuries – 2

• motor vehicle/pedestrian accident (MV ped) – 1

• watercraft rescue – 1

• gas leak (natural gas or LPG) – 2

• carbon monoxide incident – 1

• service call, other – 1

• person in distress, other – 1

• animal problem – 1

• animal rescue – 1

• assist police or other governmental agency – 2

• public service – 2

• assist invalid – 1

• unauthorized burning – 1

• cover assignment, standby, move up – 2

• no incident found on arrival at dispatch address – 2

• authorized controlled burning – 3

• smoke scare, odor of smoke – 2

Stanford Code Enforcement also gave City Council members a monthly activity report.

During Sept., Code Enforcement wrote two citations and gave 26 verbal warnings.

There were eight violations reported for the month.

A total of 11 building permits were issued, as well as three sign permits.

Code Enforcement issued one certificate of occupancy and had three conditional use requests, as well as one variance request.

There were 23 business licenses issued or renewed in September.
