CRAB ORCHARD – Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up in style to pass out presents in Crab Orchard last weekend.
The beloved couple arrived at City Hall on the back of a motorcycle, after traveling through town to wave hello to all in Crab Orchard.
Each year, Crab Orchard city officials put on a large Christmas celebration during which they hand out free presents to kids.
The event also includes bags of candy, hot chocolate and pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
The presents are purchased by the city and hand-wrapped to be given out each year.
“It was a huge success with a great turnout,” City Clerk Nancy Baker said. “We ran out of presents, which is always our goal. Thanks to all of the elves behind the scene that always show up for this event.”
Baker said at least 150, maybe more, showed up for the Saturday Christmas event.
