Lincoln Schools names new Gifted and Talented Teacher

Lincoln County Schools is excited to announce Diana Lane as the new district Gifted and Talented teacher.
Lane has 26 years of teaching experience including 20 years as a teacher for Crab Orchard, Hustonville and Stanford Elementary. She spent the last five years as a biology teacher at Lincoln County High School where she taught AP classes and was the Science Department Lead. She has also led the Lincoln County STEM Academy since 2018, a summer program offered to students offering experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Lane is a 1994 graduate of Lincoln County High School. After graduating from LCHS she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College where she also minored in Biology. She then earned her Master’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 2003 and a Rank 1 in 2006.
“I am looking forward to my new position with Gifted and Talented,” said Lane. “I’ve enjoyed helping my students achieve their goals of being part of wonderful educational experiences like Craft Academy, Gatton Academy, Governor’s Scholars and Rogers Scholars. I have helped them seek out opportunities like internships and summer educational experiences. I feel like it is important to help guide our students toward academic excellence and always do my best to make Lincoln County’s students shine.”
Diana has been married to her husband Darin for 26 years. They have three children who have all graduated from LCHS- Anna who teaches math at Waynesburg Elementary, Abby who is a student at Eastern Kentucky University and Elan who plans to attend the University of Kentucky this fall. They enjoy spending time together, attending church, traveling, hiking, kayaking and attending sporting events in their free time.
