The Lincoln County Board of Education is excited to introduce Lincoln County High School senior Cayley Thornsberry as its 2024-25 student board representative.

Cayley is currently president of the Mock Trial Club at LCHS. She is also secretary of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and a member of the Lady Patriots volleyball team.

As a non-voting board member, Cayley will be a liaison between the high school student body and the board of education where she hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the board members to aid in their decision making.

“I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to serve as the non-voting student board member,” said Thornsberry. “I am looking forward to being a voice for my fellow students and learning about how the Board of Education works behind the scenes. This will be a great opportunity and I’m excited about this school year.”

“It is very important for our students to have a voice and this student representative seat serves as a direct line of communication between the student body and our board,” said Superintendent Bruce Smith. “It helps us make decisions to best impact our schools and our students. We are excited for Cayley to join us at our meetings.”

After graduating, Thornsberry plans to attend college and major in pre-law and minor in criminal justice. In her spare time she enjoys reading, painting and shopping. Applications for the student board representative are received by a committee that selects the representative to serve as the student representative for the year.
