Blue Grass Airport (LEX) announced Monday it will be having non-stop, daily flights between Lexington and New York LaGuardia Airport via Delta Air Lines in the spring for the first time since the service was halted due to COVID-19.
Beginning May 7, 2025, Delta will resume its year-round flights to LaGuardia, previously offered in Lexington prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and now being reinstated for central Kentucky travelers by popular demand.
“Hardly a week has gone by when we haven’t heard from someone in our community asking about the return of non-stop service from Lexington to New York, so we are thrilled Delta Air Lines is announcing this flight will return to Blue Grass Airport in May 2025,” said Eric Frankl, president & CEO at Blue Grass Airport. “Let’s now turn that enthusiasm into commitment by flying local and ensuring the success of this New York route. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Delta for their continued partnership and commitment to serving our region for more than 78 years.”
With something for everyone, New York City offers a vibrant mix of culture, history, performing arts, global cuisine and iconic landmarks. Visit the Statue of Liberty, Central Park and Times Square. Experience Broadway’s world-class theater productions and visit the city’s renowned museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. Conclude your trip by exploring diverse neighborhoods such as Chinatown or Little Italy.
“We’re proud to bring back non-stop service between Lexington and New York City in 2025, making Delta the only carrier to offer a direct connection to New York City from Lexington,” said David Hart, Delta’s managing director – network planning. “This service resumption demonstrates our commitment to connecting Lexington to more destinations, offering customers greater convenience and choice whether they are flying for business or leisure.”
