Soccer Pats open season with 6-1 road win

The Lincoln County High School boys soccer team got the 2018 season off to a good start with a 6-1 victory at South Laurel Monday night.
Senior forward Austin Wethington led the soccer Patriots (1-0) to the win with a hat-trick. Juniors Trey Cummins and Hawk Randall and sophomore Carter Muse each added a single goal.
Cummins led the team in assists with three while Muse and Calvin Randall each had one assist.
Zach Smart scored South Laurel’s lone goal, tallying off a Clayton Stacy assist.
Carter Tillett was in goal for Lincoln. Tucker Little played goalkeeper for South Laurel (0-1).
The soccer Patriots’ next game is today at 7:30 p.m. as Lincoln hosts Lexington Christian Academy.
