Logan’s Fort Events Committee to meet

Logan’s Fort Events Committee will meet Monday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. The meeting is open to the public and the committee would like anyone who may want to have an event at the fort to attend or notify Stanford City Hall.

The course will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Office sponsored by Lincoln County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Garrard County Farm Bureau. The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members ($5 discount for Lincoln County Farm Bureau Members).

Logan’s Fort Foundation Inc. annual meeting

The Logan’s Fort Foundation Inc. will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. at the Welcome Center on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Waynesburg Car Show

Waynesburg Elementary School is sponsoring a car show on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 2-5 p.m. at the school. Entry fee is $15. The car show is open to any (new or old) make or model vehicle, motorcycles, tractors. Trophies will be awarded at 5 p.m. Door prizes will be given away. A tractor pedal pull will be held between 2-5 p.m. for all ages. Following the car show, a chili supper will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. with live music. Everyone is welcome. Eubank class reunion

The Eubank High School of 1978 will hold its 40th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Eubank Senior Citizens Center beginning at 6 p.m. Please bring photos and any other items connected with the class to share. If you have not been contacted, please call (606) 271-6351 for more information.

Pre-Inventory Sale

We don’t want to count it, so we’re going to discount it! The Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary gift shop is having a pre-inventory reduction sale through Sept. 14. The gift shop is located in the front lobby of the hospital. Come check all the great gifts at discounted prices!

Lincoln County Farm Bureau contests

Lincoln County Farm Bureau Outstanding Youth and Variety Contests will be held Monday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Stanford Baptist Church. Interviews for Outstanding Youth Contest begin at 6 p.m. Applications are available at the Lincoln County Farm Bureau office.

Memorial High School classes reunion

The Memorial High School Classes of 1967 and 1968 are having a class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Greer Park in Kings Mountain. Democratic Woman’s Club to meet

The Democratic Woman’s Club will meet tonight (Thursday, Sept. 13) at 5 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. The meeting will focus on support for upcoming elections. Scottie Ernst, candidate for Stanford mayor will be the speaker. All interested in hearing this speaker are welcome.

KY Farm Bureau Educational Grant

An educational grant of $1,500 is awarded annually to a female non-traditional student who is interested in resuming her education after leaving school to fulfill either family or work-related responsibilities. Applicant must be a member of Kentucky Farm Bureau for at least one year prior to applying for this award and a high school graduate (GED is acceptable). Applications must be postmarked by October 19 and can be picked up at the Stanford Farm Bureau Office.

Stanford Cruise-In

The Stanford Cruise-In will be held Friday, Sept. 21 from 5-8:30 p.m., on Main Street in Stanford. This is hosted by the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, Blue Knights of KY XI and the Fort Logan F.O.P.

LC blood drive

Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is encouraging the people of Lincoln County to roll up their sleeves, donate blood and help Kentucky patients. The next blood drive will be Thursday, Sept. 20 from 1-6 p.m. in the fellowship room at the Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 East Main Street. Blood donors must be 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parent permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800-775-2522.

Pushing the Limits

Get involved in ideas about Wellness on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library in a continuation of the PUSHING THE LIMITS series. This month’s featured title is The Wellness Project by Phoebe Lapine. Pre-registration is required and copies of program materials are now ready to be picked up at the circulation desk.

Family Art Night
