LC Historical Society Fall Gathering

The Lincoln County Historical Society invites you to the Fall Gathering at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House Museum on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. The Meeting House is located at 315 W. Main Street, Stanford. All are welcome.

In celebration of National Homemaker’s Week, the Lincoln County Homemakers will have a special event on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Veteran’s Park from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Activities will include blood pressure screening, a walk around the park at 6 p.m. and the giving away of 100 goody bags. This event will encourage guests to join a local club and one lucky new member will receive an air fryer. Please come and participate in this fun-filled time. Everyone is welcome.

Polly Ann Ridge Reunion

The eighth annual Polly Ann Ridge Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 starting at 11 a.m. to whenever. The reunion will be held at the Eubank Senior Citizens Center located on Hwy. 70 in Eubank. All former and current residents of Polly Ann Ridge are invited. Bring food, drinks, photos, etc.

Community Needs Assessment Public Meeting

There will be a public meeting held to discuss the needs of the Community and Low Income citizens in Lincoln County. The meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant, 119 Metker Trail. Stanford Lions Club to hold bake sale

The Stanford Lions Club will hold a bake sale on Saturday, Oct. 13 starting at 9 a.m. at Durham’s Grocery. Proceeds will be used for community needs.

Stanford Lions Club Candy Days

Stanford Lions Club is hosting Candy Days. Lions Club members will be passing out candy on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Durham’s Grocery and Save-A-Lot. Donations will be appreciated. Proceeds will be used with the Kids Sight Program.

Health Fair for LC Teachers

Lincoln County Retired Teachers are sponsoring a health and wellness fair for all active and retired teachers on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Lincoln County High School Auditorium from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. For further details, call (859) 749-5805.

Logan-Whitley DAR Chapter to meet

Logan-Whitley DAR Chapter will meet Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant, 119 Metker Trail. The program will be “Initiatives in Appalachia”. Mary-Grace Luscher, Chapter Vice Regent will be the speaker.

Democratic Woman’s Club to meet

The Democratic Woman’s Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. Sonny Spoonamore will be the speaker to review candidates for the upcoming election. All interested in hearing this speaker are welcome.

•Hustonville Trick or Treat will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.

•County and city wide Trick or Treat is Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Hobblin’ Gobblin 5K Run/Walk

There will be a Hobblin’ Goblin 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Millennium Park in Danville. This 5K is for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Cedar Creek annual fish fry

Cedar Creek Sportsman’s Club will hold its annual fish fry Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 or adults, $5 for children five to 10, and four and under are free. Menu includes fish, hush puppies, potato wedges, cole slaw, dessert and drink. There will be a gun raffle, a $500 cash raffle, door prizes, auction, and lots of fun. Everyone is welcome.

Stanford City Wide Fall Clean Up

The annual City of Stanford city-wide fall cleanup has been scheduled for October 15-19. All items for pickup are to be placed at the curb. Items exempt from pickup are: tires, batteries, paint cans and all hazardous chemicals. Tree limbs no longer than six feet in length, tied in bundles and placed by the curb will also be picked up. Chill’s 5K run/walk set for Oct. 21

The FOP Fort Logan Lodge #84 Chills 5K run/walk will be Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. Registration forms can be found at the Lincoln County Attorney’s office, Stanford Police Department, Stanford City Hall and other businesses in Stanford or call (859) 319-2120 if you need one sent to you. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Fee is $25.

Saving Your Streambanks workshop

Why is the drainage ditch or stream in my backyard or on the farm getting deeper? Or wider? Why are the edges getting steeper? What can be done? Join us for a free workshop on Thursday, Oct.18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office, 104 Metker Trail. Mini cost-share grant applications available up to $2,000.

Sam Singleton Memorial Scholarship Shoot

Farm Bureau Women’s Educational Grant

An educational grant of $1,500 is awarded annually to a female non-traditional student. Applicant must be a member of Kentucky Farm Bureau for at least one year prior to applying for this award and a high school graduate (GED is acceptable). Applications must be postmarked by October 19 and can be picked up at the Stanford Farm Bureau Office.
