I Need You”
1 Corinthians
12:12-18, 22-27

Brother Dan Grigson, who is a deacon at Stanford Baptist Church, was our guest speaker recently. Brother Dan told the congregation that the Apostle Paul compared The Church to the Human Body because everyone has a part to perform. The Apostle explained in 1 Corinthians 12, that we are many in one body. When the Holy Spirit “baptized” The Church all into one body, there was no difference between those from multiple nations, or different classes in society. Christians are like Christ’s body on earth, therefore, they should speak and work for The Messiah. God has designed the parts of the body so that they will work together. If one part suffers, it makes the rest of the body suffer. When believers are part of the Body of Christ, they respect, sympathize, hurt, and have joy for one another.

Brother Dan stated that The Human Body and The Body of Christ (The Church), have multiple parts because there are many needs. Members of The Body of Christ (The Church), are unique and indispensable. We depend on one another and each member is interconnected.  “There should be no schism in the body, but that the members should  have the same care one for another.” “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.” “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:25-27. God designed the universe so we can serve one another. The Almighty provides each person talents and gifts that allows an individual to have the tools necessary to serve others. Brother Dan explained that The Church does not save a person; only Jesus Christ can save a sinner. God shapes His children to serve Him. The Almighty desires, even before a person is born, for each child to praise, serve, and worship Him throughout his or her life. God tells His children “I Need You” through His recorded word in The Holy Bible. God can use each person for His glory no matter his or her age, talents, gifts, race, educational background, socioeconomic position, or gender. The Church is The Body Of Christ which ministers and serves. The Church needs God and members of The Bride of Christ must support each other.
