Sylvia “Louise” Corman, 84

Sylvia “Louise” Corman, 84, of Stanford, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Willows of Harrodsburg in Harrodsburg.

Born June 12, 1934, in Versailles, to the late Raymond Franklin Disponette and Hettie Jane Shelton Disponette, she was the widow of Shannon Corman. She worked as a homemaker for most of her life, loved her family, her Sunday school class, loved to travel, loved the lake, and enjoyed working on the farm. She was also a member of Stanford Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Deborah Gander (Bo) of Stanford, Cindy Hardwick (John) of Lancaster, Deronda Medlin (William) of Watertown, Tenn., and Teresa Corman of Danville; three sisters, Nellie Stratton of Lawrenceburg, Barbara Hippie (Raymond) of Frankfort, and Roberta Baker (Wayne) of Versailles; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Disponette and Pete Disponette; and one sister, Margie Robinson.

A one day service has been scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. with Reverend Vola Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Casket bearers will be Joshua Bastin, Nick Bastin, Chase Gander, Barrett Allen, Caleb Harris, and Steve Ralston. Honorary bearers are Lindsey Harris, Paige Harris, Shanna Sokolosky, and Tiffany Lipinski.
