STANFORD – It’s guns versus hoses this Saturday as law enforcement agents and firefighters plan to face off on the basketball court in the name of charity.
Dustin Phillips, a firefighter with Lincoln County Fire Station No. 3, is helping organize the “Guns Vs. Hoses” charity event and hopes to pack the gymnasium Saturday.
The friendly competition aims to raise funds for the Toys for Tots program and will be held June 8 at the Lincoln County High School gymnasium.
Doors will open at 11 a.m., Phillips said, and tip-off will start at about 11:30 a.m. Teams will play 10-minute quarters, he added.
Admission is $5 per person and free for ages 12 and under. Concessions will also be available. All proceeds from the event will go to the Toys for Tots program.
Phillips said donations will also be accepted during the event.
“It’s for the kids,” Phillips said. “And it’s something good for families to come out and watch.”
