When the doors to Lincoln County Middle School open for the 2019-20 school year in six days, first-year middle school students will not be the only new faces entering the school building.

The Lincoln County School District is excited to announce the hiring of Stacy Story as interim principal at Lincoln County Middle School. She replaces Billy Harris who has accepted an offer from the Kentucky Department of Education to serve as an Educational Recovery Leader.

A graduate of Lincoln County High School and veteran educator, Story holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Secondary Teaching for English and Psychology from Western Kentucky University as well as a Master’s Degree in Library Science and Rank I in Principalship from Eastern Kentucky University.

Story, who began her teaching career at Northwest High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Lincoln County Middle School principal position. She has since served as a Forensics Coach at Russellville High School (KY) and as an English teacher and Striving Interventionalist at Lincoln County High School. In 2010, she was hired as the Academic Performance Consultant at Lincoln County High School where she oversaw the development of curriculum, assessment, and instruction. Since 2016, Story has served as the assistant principal at LCHS, where she was immersed in the turn-around process and gained enormous experience in all facets of school leadership.

Story assumed her new position immediately and was on hand to greet incoming students at the LCMS open house Tuesday night.
