STANFORD – Thanks to the purchase of a set of new mobile computer devices, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies expect to save some time while on patrol.
Brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 4’s will now be in each deputies’ cruiser and the addition brings with it a multitude of benefits, according to Sgt. Ryan Kirkpatrick.
Kirkpatrick led a computer training course for the sheriff’s office to help the sheriff and his deputies become better acquainted with the new devices, as well as new program updates.
Deputies on patrol will now be able to run license plates, check driver’s licenses, check for active warrants and run individuals’ basic information on the new devices.
“We never had any of that information before,” Kirkpatrick said. “It increases officer safety and communication.”
