Gary Freeman Shelton, 67

Gary Freeman Shelton, 67, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. 
Born January 9, 1950, in Lincoln County, Gary was a son of the late Eugene and Lillian Padgett Shelton. He was owner and operator of both Gary Shelton Trucking Company and Gary Shelton Construction Company. He was also a member of South Fork Baptist Church. 
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Lisa Lucas Shelton of Waynesburg; one son, Brian Shelton of Stanford; two daughters, Christy Lark (Dewayne) and Ashley Wilson (Matt) all of Stanford; seven brothers, David Shelton (Lesia), Michael Shelton (Judy), Bennie Shelton (Cheryl), Don “Hulio” Leach (Wanda), Joe Leach (Lynda), Tommy Shelton (Charlotte), and Richard Shelton (Dottie) all of Waynesburg; six sisters, Delorise Bunch, Ann Ison (Elmer), and Susie Manuel (Jimmy) all of Waynesburg, Vickie Jones (Louis) and Freida Reed (Tim) both of Ohio, and Faye Snow of Bethel Ridge; six grandchildren, Sawyer Lark, Riley Lark, Layne Lark, Gunner Shelton, Cali Shelton, and Heidi Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Verlan Shelton. 
Funeral services were Monday, February 20, at Spurlin Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Kiper, Reverend Curtis Brock, and Brother Matt Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.
Active pallbearers were Barry Leach, Mark Shelton, Chris Shelton, Grant Lucas, and his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were his nieces and nephews.
