STANFORD – There are currently two local seats that will appear on the Nov. 5 General Election ballot, and the deadline to file for those seats and appear on the ballot has passed.
Lincoln County voters will choose a Lincoln County Clerk and one school board member come November.
In the race for County Clerk, current interim clerk George O. “Street” Spoonamore V has filed as a democrat and Nancy Jackson has filed as a republican.
The seat for Lincoln County School Board Member for District 3 is also open. Current interim board member Jennifer Broadbent is the only person who has filed for the seat in the November race.
Anyone wishing to file as a write-in candidate has until Oct. 27 to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate.
The deadline for a local option to allow alcohol sales in a given area is Aug. 8.
Aug. 8 is also the deadline for candidates to file for any vacancy that occurs after the June filing deadline.
Several state races will also appear on the ballot in November.
Republican Daniel Cameron and Democratic incumbent Andy Beshear will face off for the governor’s seat. Other races include secretary of state, state treasurer, auditor of public accounts and commissioner of agriculture.
