STANFORD – A Lexington man was arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on drug-trafficking charges.

Kevin Sherrow, 31, of Cheryl Lane in Lexington, was stopped on Withers Lane on July 11 by LCSO Deputy Whitworth and Sgt. Michael Mullins after they both observed his vehicle cross the white line.

As the truck was being stopped, deputies witnessed Sherrow allegedly reaching to the back of the vehicle.

Sherrow told deputies his truck has front end problems and that he wasn’t high, but was messing with his phone.

“(The) driver exhibited very nervous behavior,” the arrest citation states.

As Deputy Whitworth was checking the driver’s license status, Sgt. Mullins deployed his K9 Luma around the vehicle.

K9 Luma allegedly alerted to the front driver’s door.

A search of the vehicle turned up a magnetic box on the emergency brake pedal, which contained marijuana and a bag of several Xanax.

Deputies also located a bag in the second row seat with approximately 1.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, as well as a bag of about four grams of suspected heroin.

The search also turned up digital scales and empty baggies.

“A loaded firearm was under the center of the console,” the arrest citation states. “Above stated the gun was his and that the above drugs were not his except for the marijuana.”

Sherrow was arrested and charged with careless driving; trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); drug paraphernalia (deliver/manufacture); trafficking in controlled substance (heroin); and trafficking in controlled substance (methamphetamine).

He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Whitworth and Mullins were assisted in the arrest by Deputies Brandon Macintosh and Logan Smith.
