Thanks to grant funding from Walmart, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was able to purchase a few new pieces of equipment.
“Weve gotten Walmart grants before and have been fortunate enough for them to help us out,” said Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Mullins.
Grants have helped the sheriff’s office purchase several items in the past including printers, flashlights and voice recorders, Mullins said. In need of new radios, the sheriff’s office applied once more for a grant, which they were recently awarded.
“We got approved for $1,000 in the grant we applied for and that allowed us to buy one mobile radio, which will go in a vehicle and allows us to talk to all of our surrounding counties. We were also able to buy four mics and spare antennas because they get broken a lot,” Mullins said.
