David Madison Elder, age 101, of Eubank, Ky passed away Wednesday, May 9th, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on April 8th, 1923, in Quail, Ky. Son of the late James and Gracie (Adams) Elder. On December 21st, 1946, he married Edna Cottrell, and they enjoyed 77 years together. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. He served his Nation in World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a Kentucky Colonel and Pulaski County Colonel. David enjoyed woodworking, volleyball and making toy wagons for the grandkids.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife: Edna Cottrell Elder. Four Children; Wayne Elder (Jeannie) of Bee Lick, Harold Elder (Barb) of Eubank, Brenda Shackleford of Eubank, Linda Dillingham of Eubank. One brother: Cledious Elder of Covington. 7 Grandchildren, 15 Great grandchildren, and 12 Great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Gracie (Adams) Elder. One daughter: Wanda Boswell. Five brothers and seven sisters. Son in laws; Bud Shackleford, Danny Dillingham and Chris Boswell.
Visitation for David will be Sunday, May 12th, 2024, from 11am- 2PM at the Marvin Owens Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2PM with Bro. Curt Herrington officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with military rights.
