Lincoln County Schools announced Brad Smith as its new Director of Operations. Smith will now oversee facilities/grounds, maintenance and communications for the school district. 

He has been with the district for the past five years as the communications coordinator and has been the assistant athletic director for the past three years. Smith will continue to assist with athletics and communications along with the duties of his new director role. 

Smith is a 1998 graduate of Lincoln County High School. After graduating, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Before coming to the school district, Brad spent 12 years working in facilities for the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort, and one year managing solid waste for Lincoln County. 

At the AOC, Smith managed numerous multi-million dollar capital construction projects and also oversaw maintenance projects at judicial centers across the state. As solid waste coordinator, he managed solid waste, recycling and the nuisance programs. Smith has remained with the nuisance board for the past eight years and also still assists the county government as the public information officer. He is also the play-by-play man for Lincoln County Athletics for WPBK-FM, 102.9.

“Lincoln County has been my home my entire life. The school system is something I am very proud of and I am excited to take on this new role for the district,” said Smith. “I have a unique background working in facilities management, athletics and public relations. I feel like this will be a huge asset for me with this new position because so much of what occurs on a day to day basis in the district is intertwined. I love Lincoln County and want the best for our students, staff and community.”

Superintendent Bruce Smith said, “We are excited for Brad to fill this role. His varied work experience will allow him to meet the multifaceted needs of the district. Additionally, through some restructuring, the district will realize some savings, which is an added bonus.”

Brad and his wife Lee Ann live in Stanford along with their three children. He is an avid sports fan. In his free time he enjoys traveling, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. He will begin transitioning into the new position soon.
