Every seat – and most of the floor – was taken at the Lincoln County Public Library as kids packed the room for a chance to meet some scaly friends.
A reptile exhibit, sponsored by the South Kentucky RECC Conservation Clubhouse, visited LCPL on June 20.
There were two presentations, one at 11 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. and both were filled with spectators and curious children excited to meet the traveling reptiles.
The event featured live animals including salamanders, a snake, and a turtle. Attendees got a chance to pet the animals while a representative from the Conservation Clubhouse shared interesting facts about each animal.
The event also included a presentation on how to be safe around electricity.
The reptile event was so well-attended that the library decided to sign up for two more animal shows.
LCPL will be hosting the Birds of Prey on July 18 and Newport Sharks on July 31. Both events will begin at 11 a.m. You must call to reserve a space.
