The Stanford Fire Department (SFD) responded to seven fires in September, according to a monthly activity report given to the Stanford City Council.
From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, SFD responded to the following incidents:
• building fire – 2
• trash or rubbish fire, contained – 1
• passenger vehicle fire – 1
• natural vegetation fire, other – 2
• outside rubbish, trash or waste fire – 1
• medical assist, assist EMS crew – 8
• EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 20
• motor vehicle accident with injuries – 4
• motor vehicle accident with no injuries – 3
• hazardous condition, other – 1
• gas leak (natural gas or LPG) – 2
• power line down – 2
• assist police or other governmental agency – 1
• cover assignment, standby, move up – 1
• dispatched & canceled en route – 8
• authorized controlled burning – 1
• smoke scare, odor of smoke – 1
• alarm system sounded due to malfunction – 1
• alarm system activation, no fire – unintentional – 3
• special type of incident, other – 2
The Stanford Police Department (SPD) reported a total of 752 contacts through 911 for the month of September.
SPD Offiers wrote 68 citations, gave 41 warnings and made 12 arrests.
Officers reported 29 incidents/cases and worked 21 accidents.
The department had 66 hours of training including two hours of departmental training, 40 hours of DOCJT SRO I training for Officer Eric Taylor and 24 hours of Emergency Management training for Officer Ryan Kirkpatrick.
Stanford Code Enforcement issued five violations in September and gave 18 verbal warnings, according to the monthly report.
There were two building permits issued and one certificate of occupancy.
A total of 22 business license applications were issued or renewed in September.
