The Lincoln County Fire Department responded to a significant house fire early morning Jan 11 near Highway 2141, requiring assistance from multiple agencies due to freezing conditions.
Fire crews were dispatched around 2 a.m. and arrived to find the two-story structure ablaze, with flames fully engulfing the second floor. According to fire department officials, the freezing temperatures complicated efforts, prompting the involvement of additional departments to assist in managing the fire and ensuring firefighter safety.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, all occupants of the home were able to evacuate safely, officials confirmed.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area near the 6000 block of Highway 2141 as tankers hauled water to the scene and icy road conditions presented additional hazards. The state highway department worked to spread salt on nearby roads to improve safety.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
