Ponderosa to host Mod Lite Madness

Mod Lite Madness will roll at Ponderosa Speedway on July 29 in a special Saturday night program at the 3/8-mile D-shaped red clay oval .
Mod Lite Madness will feature the Tennessee Mod Lites paying $800-to-win and Stock Four Cylinders also racing for $800, plus a full racing program for Super Late Models, Pro (Crate) Late Models, and KDRA Super Stocks, while the Open Wheel Modifieds and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will have the night off.
Super Late Models will be racing for $1,200-to-win, Pro (Crate) Late Models are going $800-to-win, KDRA Super Stocks will race for $600, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will race for $100. All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Transponder timing/scoring is used at Ponderosa Speedway and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and are required to be in use when a competitor is on the track. The Mod Lites will have a $20 entry fee ($10 for sanctioning fee and $10 for transponder rental).
Activities for the special Saturday July 29 racing program get underway with the pit area and general admission area gates opening at 4 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7 p.m., followed immediately by practice and time trials, and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Mod Lite Madness in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children age 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $30 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, while children ages 5 and under are free.
Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City.
