We want to congratulate the new couple, Lisa and Patrick Field, who were married Saturday, Sept. 9. They said their vows at St. Sylvester Catholic Church with a full church of family and friends in attendance. A reception was held following the wedding in the church community building. We wish them a very long and happy marriage.
I received word this past week of the death of one of my classmates, Paul Parker, who was raised and had lived in Maywood until he left. He had been living in Kansas and passed away Sept. 1, 2017. It makes one think how time is passing.
Now some corn crops have been harvested, hunters are shooting doves. It’s scary especially since we know from the past, some of those stray bullets have hit our barn. I’m afraid to go out when they are shooting. Please be careful!
Some of the trees have begun to change colors. It’s so peaceful to walk in the woods and listen to the chatter of the animals and the leaves whispering in the wind. The sun’s rays come through the openings and feel so warm in the coolness. We will probably have a few more weeks of mowing grass before it frosts.
May we keep all of the people in our prayers who are going through the hardships of all the storms. I’m sure a lot of us have kin or friends who live in those areas.
The reason some people put on airs is because they have nothing else to put on. Have a good week. God bless all.
