Betty Cummins Gibbons VanHook, 72, of Eubank, formerly of Crab Orchard, passed away Sunday, December 18, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset.
Born March 22, 1944, in Harlan, Betty was a daughter of the late Homer Gibbons and Fannie Wynn Rogers. She worked 28 years for American Greetings and was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Survivors include her loving husband, Don VanHook, whom she married June 13, 2014; daughter, Debbie Jasper; son, Steve Cummins and wife Sharon; stepsons, Donnie VanHook and wife Vicky and Gary VanHook and wife Judy; stepdaughters, Annette and husband Chris Morris and Amy and husband Doug Judy; sisters, Alva and husband Arlis Cash and Faye and husband Dave Gwynn; brother, Delmas Gibbons and wife Sandy; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Stephanie, Jill and Jake; and six great grandchildren, Weston, Laurel, Will, Abby, Kassidy and Luke.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Mullins; brother, Denver Gibbons; and second husband, Hulen Simpson.
Funeral services were Wednesday, December 21, at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard. Burial was in the Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dalton Lovins, Gary and Jim VanHook, Lee Childers, Jonathan Jasper, Weston Smith, Chris Hubbard and Jake Cummins.
