Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Mira Daugherty, R.N., a nurse in the Critical Care Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Lincoln County, Mira has been caring for patients at EMRMC for nearly 11 years.
She was nominated by a patient’s wife who said, “Mira was the charge nurse in the CCU when my husband passed away. She along with another nurse comforted me and we shed tears together. During my husband’s lengthy illness, I have been around lots of nurses. They showed the most love and compassion to a grieving wife. I will never forget their kindness. I am so blessed to have had them during this difficult time in my life.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program honoring the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMRMC and Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital.
