Madelyn Day represents Lincoln at State DYW

Madelyn Day, Lincoln County’s Distinguished Young Woman (DYW) winner, represented the local program at the 2018 Kentucky DYW Saturday and Sunday at the Singletary Center for the Arts in Lexington.
Day, a Lincoln County High School senior, was evaluated in five different categories during the program – Scholastic Achievement, Judges’ Interview, Talent, Self Expression and Fitness. She was one of 31 other DYW winners from across the state competing for $30,000 in cash scholarships and over $8-million in college-offered scholarships.
Day, the daughter of Daryl and Dawn Day of Stanford, performed a hip-hop dance routine for her talent presentation. She danced to Beyonce’s “Grown Woman.”
Each of the DYW representatives had a “Little Sister” to share the DYW experience with at the state program and Day’s “Little Sister” was Jenna Baker. Jenna, is the daughter of Jonathan and Donya Baker of Stanford.
