Wilson learns from former DYW winners at annual luncheon

Offering advice were Karina Harness Baker, Taylor Faulkner, Katie King, Madelyn Day, Leanne Kirkpatrick Nicolette Coontz Bailey and Joanna Howerton Stevens.
Current Lincoln County Distinguished Young Woman Jessie Wilson got more than just a delicious meal when she attended the annual DYW Luncheon on Dec. 20 – she got a load of sound advice.
Wilson, who is preparing to leave for the state program this weekend, was the featured guest of the luncheon which brings together former DYW and Junior Miss winners at the home of Lincoln DYW chair Sheila Underwood and her husband, Stuart, to share their own state experiences to help prepare Wilson for her upcoming competition.
Former winners on hand to share their knowledge were: Madelyn Day (2018), Katie King (2016), Taylor Faulkner (2013), Leanne Kirkpatrick (2011 – the last Junior Miss winner), Karina Harness Baker (2010), Nicolette Coontz Bailey (2009) and Joanna Howerton Stevens (2005).
Wilson, the daughter of Mark and Kellie Wilson of Waynesburg, will be competing in the Kentucky Distinguished Young Woman program Jan. 11 and 12 at the Singletary Center for the Arts in Lexington.
