Lion Mary Benton Friend and Lion Bob Swett are once again chairs for the annual Lions Club Radio Auction. The two Lions are busy collecting donations for the ninth annual radio auction that will be held at WPBK 102.9 FM on Saturday, April 13 from noon until 8 p.m.
The Lions want to thank Jonathan Smith and the staff at WPBK Radio Station for helping to make this event possible and contributing to the success it has been in the last eight years. The radio auction is one of the club’s biggest fundraisers each year with 100 percent of the proceeds going to community needs.
Also contributing to the success of this event in the previous years is all the generous donations received from local businesses and surrounding areas. It takes around 200 items to make this event a success and the Lions want to thank all the businesses that support this event each year. To date we have collected 92 auction items and will be working hard to meet our goal. If your business or you personally would like to donate an item or monetary funds, please contact either Mary Benton Friend at (606) 669-2099 or Bob Swett at (207) 239-4766 or any other Lions member.
To view all the items and gift cards that have been donated, you can friend the Stanford Lions on Facebook. Each donation is posted as it is received and recorded. Two days prior to the auction, the time slot each item will be auctioned off will be posted.
Don’t forget to mark Saturday, April 13 on your calendar and tune-in to 102.9 FM from noon to 8 p.m. for the annual radio auction.
