Dear Nancy Leedy and The Interior Journal,
I visited your office yesterday, Friday, Sept. 6. My one-day experience of Stanford was amazing. You people at the newspaper and everyone else I met in Stanford were most hospitable and helpful.
The caretaker at Buffalo Springs Cemetery took the time to lead me to the grave of the relative I was searching for. Wanting a copy of the relative’s obituary, I drove to downtown Stanford, where I found some gentlemen who directed me to your office. And you people graciously helped with the obit and pointed me towards the person who could help me with the other question I had. Back in the 1950’s, I had visited the relative but I didn’t know where the house was.
You sent me to see David Gambrel, the PVA. He took the time to help me by leading me to a living relative. I connected with a cousin, Mrs. Annette Story, and she told me where to look for the house in question.
Thanks to you and all of the people who assisted me. You made my visit pleasant and a success.
