STANFORD — Lincoln County High School announced the hiring of Suzanne Haberek as the new head coach of the Lady Patriot volleyball program Monday.
Haberek, currently a math teacher at LCHS and a certified KHSAA volleyball official, replaces Samantha Torres who was dismissed as head coach at the end of the 2019 season.
Haberek has over 15 years of experience coaching and officiating high school volleyball in Kentucky. Before coming to Lincoln County, she was an assistant coach for both East Jessamine and Scott County High School. She also served as the head coach for Windburn Middle School in Fayette County and has experience coaching club volleyball.
“Coach Haberek brings a wealth of experience with her in playing, coaching and officiating high school volleyball,” LCHS Athletic Director Tim Estes said. “She has seen all sides of the game in her career. Not only is she an excellent coach, but she’s also an outstanding classroom teacher and already knows many of the returning players. We felt like her presence in the school on a daily basis would be huge for the program.”
Coach Haberek was introduced to the team Monday at a team meeting at the high school. She will now begin filling her staff and initiating offseason training with the team.
