Leo Slone, 80, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his residence.
He was born January 21, 1939 in Waynesburg and was the son of the late James “Jim” and Soonie (McCurry) Slone. He worked in construction as a millwright. Leo was a born again believer who was saved by the grace of God.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Nell (Caudill) Slone; three sons, Chris Slone of Waynesburg, Buddie Slone of Waynesburg, and Jason Slone of Parrish, Florida; a brother, Jim Slone of Stanford; a sister Dixie Smith of Stanford; four grandchildren, Thad, Dylan, Sissy, and Sydney Slone; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Sophia, and Coralee; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver and niece, Donna Kaye Rice of Waynesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Shannon, Quention, Cleo, and Doug Slone; four sisters, Vivian V. Slone, Joyce Robbins, Eden Gaye Gray, and Melba Cox; and one grandchild, Luke Slone.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Vola Brown officiating. Burial followed in Double Springs Cemetery.
