45th District tourney opens Monday at LCHS

The basketball postseason gets underway Monday night at Lincoln County High School as the Lady Patriots and Patriots host the 2020 45th District Tournament.
The tournament opens Monday, Feb. 24, with the Boyle County girls and the Garrard County boys facing off against Danville Christian Academy at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The first round continues on Tuesday, with the Garrard County girls and Danville boys taking on Kentucky School for the Deaf at 6 and 7:30.
The Patriots, the No. 1 boys’ seed and defending district and region champion, will see action Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the semifinal round, taking on the Garrard/DCA winner at 7:30 pm.
Danville, the girls’ No. 1 seed, will play the Boyle/DCA winner in the first game Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The five-time defending district champion Lincoln County Lady Patriots, the girls’ No. 2 seed, will take the court Thursday. Feb. 27, in the semifinal round. The Lady Patriots will play the Garrard/KSD winner at 6 p.m.
Boyle, the boys’ No. 2 seed, will play the Danville/KSD winner in Thursday’s nightcap at 7:30 p.m.
The championship games will be played on Friday, Feb. 28. Tipoff for the girls’ final game is 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ final at 8.
Admission is $6. No season passes will be accepted. KHSCA cards admit one.
