The Lincoln County Board of Education will hold a special called working meeting today, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Student Support Center, 305 Danville Avenue, Stanford. Agenda items include early childhood training mid-year report , board impasse resolution process and self-assessment process; athletics update; equitable treatment of students and stakeholders; NTI days update; Wilderness Trace update; welding program at Lincoln County Area Technology Center; and review of 16 action items. The action items include one additional counselor at Stanford Elementary and one additional counselor at LCHS; full-time school resource officer at Lincoln County Middle School; district instructional coaches, assistant principal position at Lincoln County Middle School; two MOAs with EKU; using Strawbridge Studios for next school year; revised board procedure for public participation procedures; Lincoln County Migrant Program; and revised 2019-20 calendar. There will be no public comments at this meeting.
The Stanford City Council will meet today, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the historic Depot building. Agenda items include second reading of an ordinance establishing payment for members of the Code Enforcement (Nuisance) Board; second reading of an ordinance setting the city council’s regular meeting location, date and time; and recommendations to appoint Ted Defossett and Bob Swett to Planning & Zoning.
The Lincoln County Fiscal Court will hold a regular meeting at 9 a.m. next Tuesday, March 10, at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
The Lincoln County Board of Health will have its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, March 10, at 12:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Lincoln County Health Department, 44 Health Way, Stanford.
The Nightingale Chapter of the Kentucky Nurses Association and Lincoln County nurses will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the McDowell Room at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Delores White, DNP, KNA chapter liaison will be there. Speakers will include Denise Alvey and Gwyneth Pyle discussing situational awareness; Hannah James talking about victimized nurses; Teresa Bell discussing workplace violence; and Jeanette Rogers talking about Caring Colleagues. Lincoln County Retired Teachers will meet Tuesday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center for a potluck. The guest speaker will be Steve Gillespie, legislative representative for our district, who will update our members on what is happening in Frankfort. Contributions will be accepted for our Books for Babies project, as well.
The Lincoln County Republican party meeting has been rescheduled for 6 p.m., March 17, at the Depot.
The Lincoln County Health Department will be closing for a staff meeting on Wednesday, March 18, at 3:30 p.m.
