Traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy Michael Mullins conducted a traffic stop Monday that resulted in the discovery of multiple drugs.
Mullins was patrolling Main Street in Crab Orchard around 7 p.m. when he stopped a vehicle and deployed K9 Luma to search a vehicle where Mullins had detected the odor of narcotics.
During the investigation, items suspected to be methamphetamine, along with Suboxone, Xanax pills, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia, were located inside the vehicle.
The female driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (meth), possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (unspecified), as well as numerous other violations.
Mullins was the arresting deputy.
