Margaret D. English, 74, of Woodville, passed away, Friday, March 11, 2022, surrounded by her family, at her residence.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Campground Cemetery in Woodville, Texas. Officiating was Brother Milton Powers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Billy Jack Sturrock, Lee Self, Kerry Evans, Ken Hanson, Ken Coates, and Becky Meeks.
Margaret was born March 20, 1947, to Boyd and Margaret Crain. She was born and raised in Stanford, Kentucky and was a longtime Woodville resident. Margaret attended high school in Lexington, Kentucky, and she graduated from Fugazzi Business College. She married the love of her life, Henry M. English, Jr., in Gatlin, Tennessee, and they were married 53 years, until his death in 2017. Above all, mom loved God and her family. She loved life, working in the yard, traveling, walking, sitting by a fire, coffee, reading, and working word puzzles. She loved fresh vegetables, wild life, fishing, good food, camping, sunrises and sunsets. She loved people. She loved the children she served over her 25 years in food service with the Woodville ISD.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. English, Jr.; father, Boyd Crain; mother, Margaret “Peggy” Durham and step father, Hurl Durham.
She is survived by her son, Henry “Chip” English III of Woodville, Texas; daughter, Bernice Coates and husband, Ken, of Warren, Texas; brother, Joe Crain and wife, Robin of Stanford, Kentucky; sister, JoAnn Cooper and husband, Earl, of Stanford, Kentucky; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
