All good things must come to an end, and what an end it was.

It took double overtime for the state’s top team to end the Lincoln County boys’ basketball season Saturday morning. The Patriots fell to 10th Region champs George Rogers Clark in the KHSAA Sweet 16 semifinals in a thriller.

GRC defeated the Patriots, 54-51, to advance to the championship game to face the winner of an afternoon game between 9th Region champion Covington Catholic and 4th Region champ Warren Central.

The championship game tips off at 7 p.m. at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
