Shamrock summer camps are returning to West T. Hill community theater in Danville after a two-year Covid-19 hiatus.
UPLIFT Performing Arts group from Danville’s sister city, Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, is leading the camp. Led by Ryan and Amy Moffett, owners and founders of UPLIFT, the theater will be hosting eight Irish young adults that will lead three weeks of summer camps.
There are two weeks of camps for ages 5-18 (July 18-22 & 25-29) and one week of adult camp (August 1-5). There are showcase performances each weekend. Camps will culminate with a huge “MegaMash” showcase on Sunday, August 7 at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center.
These camps are high energy – instruction in all avenues of stage performance, including music, dance, and singing. The cultural exchange of friendship is an amazing experience.
Registration begins May 9 at West’s Wing at 137 N. Third Street (directly across from Main Theatre) from 11 am. to 2 pm. The cost is $150.00 for each week ($50.00 discount for each additional family member). The fee includes materials, instruction, lunch, snacks, t-shirt and two free tickets to performances.
